As we mentioned in the last post, there are two ways to receive your E-rate discount. In this post, we’ll cover the billed entity applicant reimbursement (BEAR) method.
With this method, first you pay your service provider in full (after you are billed for services). Then you submit an FCC Form 472 to USAC to request your reimbursement.
However, a few things, however, have to be in place before you can do that.
This year, users have the ability to manage their organization’s profile information directly through EPC. Also new in FY2016, the information you add to your organization’s profile will automatically populate into your E-rate Program forms.
If you still need to set up a user account, see last week’s post for instructions.
We strongly encourage you to update missing/incorrect information now while it is still early in the application process! It’s essential to make sure all information is accurate, as it will auto populate in your form.
To apply for E-rate Program funding, you’ll need access to your organization’s account in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC), the online portal for creating and managing your application, and communicating with USAC.
This post is about how to find your organization’s account and to get a user account.
