A new step in every post

We’ll post 2-3 times per week with specific tasks to get started with, and then apply to, the E-rate Program. We’re aiming to make each step as simple and easy to follow as possible!

The blog also serves as a schedule for managing your application. We *hope* you’ll complete each post’s task as soon as you can, so you can identify problems early and get help from USAC if you need it.

Step-by-Step Guidance for the E-rate Program

Welcome to the E-rate Program’s new blog, “File Along with Me”!

Each year, the E-rate Program provides $3.9B in funding to schools and libraries for broadband and telecommunications access. To apply, you must submit your application during a fixed period called the “filing window,” which begins on February 3!

In this blog, we’ll use a step-by-step approach to help schools and libraries, regardless of their experience level, complete their application for E-rate Program funding. If you follow along by completing the task in each post, you’ll complete your E-rate Program application with time to spare before the filing window ends.

Even if you’ve applied to the E-rate Program before, this year everyone is a beginner in the new online filing portal, EPC. In File Along with Me, we’ll also walk you through how to set up your profile, work, and correspond with USAC in the new portal.
