After you receive the funding commitment decision letter and start your E-rate Program supported services, use the FCC Form 486 to inform USAC that they’ve started.
What happens after your FCDL is issued
Some applicants mistakenly think the application process is over once they get their Funding Commitment Decision Letter (FCDL). It’s not! You still have a few steps left before you receive your funding.
After you get your FCDL, you still have to:
- Make changes and corrections (if needed),
- Submit the FCC Form 486 to confirm that services started and to report your Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) compliance status (as applicable), and
- Invoice USAC to receive your funding.
What to do when you get your funding commitment
PIA review ends with a decision about your funding. Today, we’ll cover funding commitments and funding commitment decision letters (FCDLs).
You’ll get an email when your FCDL is ready
When USAC makes a decision about your funding requests, the contact person listed on the FCC Form 471 will receive an email prompting them to log into EPC. The funding commitment decision letter (FCDL) will be in the EPC Notifications (with the subject: EPC Notification – E-rate Funding Commitment Decision Letter).
Reminder: No paper funding commitment decisions letters (FCDLs) will be issued this year; letters will be available only in your EPC news feed.
How to respond to PIA inquiries
If a PIA reviewer has a question about your application, they’ll post it in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC) and send you an email, asking you to log in and respond.
What to expect during PIA review
Back to the program! We are picking up where we left off with the step-by-step posts about the application process. The last few posts were about the receipt acknowledgement letter (RAL), how to make changes to your funding request, and what changes you can’t make right away.
