Quick update: First funding wave released

The Schools and Libraries (E-rate) Program releases its funding decisions in “waves,” groups of applications that are approved weekly. Today, the program announced its first wave for Funding Year 2016 (July 2016 to June 2017):

  • Wave: FY2016 Wave #1 (issued June 16, 2016)
  • Applications approved: 2,251
  • Amount committed: $17M+
  • Service types: All
  • Discount levels: All

If your application was included in the first wave, you can find the funding commitment decision letter (FCDL) in your E-rate Productivity Center (EPC) News Feed. To see how, read the instructions in the June 3 issue of the SL News Brief or watch this how-to video for applicants.

Until the FY2016 funding wave details are added to the Search Commitments Tool, you can look up FY2016 commitments using a spreadsheet which will be available shortly on the Search Tools page.

Funding decisions are released in waves throughout the year. We’ll cover funding commitments and funding commitment decisions letters (FCDLs) in more detail, here in the blog, after we finish providing special guidance for libraries and consortia and covering the program integrity assurance (PIA) review process.
